PLATO

PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars

PLATO is the European Space Agency’s next mission dedicated to the discovery and characterization of planetary systems and to probing stellar interiors through asteroseismology. The GARANAT group at the University of Granada is an active member of the international PLATO consortium, leading key activities in stellar modelling and theoretical oscillation-frequency computations, which are essential for the accurate determination of stellar properties and ages. The team also develops advanced tools for the asteroseismic analysis of A-F type stars, exoplanet characterization, and the scientific exploitation of PLATO data, reinforcing UGR’s position as an international leader in stellar asteroseismology.
